Raheem Floyd Commits To The Florida Gators

Updated: 8 hours ago

The buzz had been building since his official visit last weekend, and now it’s official — 4-star cornerback Raheem Floyd is headed to Gainesville.

In a moment that sent waves through the recruiting world, Floyd announced his commitment to the Florida Gators, choosing them over Missouri. Floyd made it clear that this decision was about more than football — it was about finding a home.

“They have great coaches here, great facilities and a great place to be. I feel like they are coming to win national championships. It will be a great place to be and it felt like home,” Floyd said of Florida.

Known for his explosive playmaking ability, speed, and physical presence, Floyd has quickly become one of the most talked-about prospects in his class. Whether it’s making big plays under the lights or locking down opponents in key moments, he’s proven he can perform on the biggest stages.

But beyond the highlights, it was the vision for his future that sealed the deal.

“These guys at Florida, they have a great system. They have a couple different coverages of zone and zone blitzes, so that will be a great time to get your eyes back on the quarterback, read the ball, make plays and be successful,” Floyd told Gators Online’s Corey Bender last Saturday.

The atmosphere at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium — better known as The Swamp — also played a major role in his decision. Floyd recalled his visit as unforgettable, with thousands of fans creating one of the most electric environments in college football.

“There’s nothing like The Swamp,” he said. “When I ran out of that tunnel, I could already picture myself doing that every Saturday. That feeling… you can’t ignore it.”

With his commitment, Floyd becomes a cornerstone piece for Florida’s future, bringing elite talent and a competitive mindset to Gainesville. His work ethic and drive have coaches excited about what’s to come, both on and off the field.

“I’m ready to work,” Floyd said. “This is just the beginning. I’m coming to Florida to compete, to win, and to help bring championships back to The Swamp.”

Gator Nation, take notice — Raheem Floyd has made his decision, and the future in Gainesville just got a whole lot brighter.
